Workshops and Classes
Photoshop fundamentals for photographers
In this course we'll go through each tool individually, using images that are ideal for describing a particular tool. You'll learn about the various selection tools, cropping, brushing, history, erasing and all the other tools in the Photoshop toolbox. We'll look at how one tool can be used in conjunction with others and discuss best practices when using tools, using shortcuts to help with an ideal workflow. We'll also look at the essential panels used in photo editing, like using actions, adjustment layers, layers and curves etc. This is a great starter course for photographers wanting to build familiarity with Photoshop and gain an in depth knowledge of the program essentials.
Course is held over a 2 week period, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week, starting at 6.30pm. This gives plenty time for Q and A and also time for recap and discussion.
What you'll need
A laptop (PC or Mac - I work on Mac and am also familiar with PC) with Adobe Photoshop CS6 or newer. If you don't have Photoshop you can get it here, www.adobe.com. The Photography Plan is all you need and it's £9.98 per month. It includes Photoshop and Lightroom and also a portfolio website. A notebook is also handy. The course is held in my studio at Meadow Mill in Dundee with a maximum of 5 students per session. I project my desktop onto a large screen to enable us all to work together. It's really relaxed and I'll provide refreshments.
